A few hours and rounds after Keegan Thompson was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 2017 MLB Draft, Auburn outfielder Jonah Todd was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Todd, the Tigers most consistent hitter in 2017, was selected in the sixth round and 175th overall. The 2017 season saw the Marion Military Institute transfer lead the team in batting average with a .376 clip, recording 91 hits, 13 doubles, 5 triples and 37 RBI. Todd primarily served as the leadoff batter for Auburn, batting first in 50 games, including the last 29. He was also an asset in the field, recording 173 putouts and a .994 fielding percentage in 62 games as a starter. Todd is the second Auburn Tiger selected in this year’s draft, both picks have come in the top-six rounds. This story will be updated.
