Soccer Ready for Second Round Battle with UConn

After a dominating performance against South Alabama in round one of the NCAA Tournament, Auburn Soccer is ready to do battle with UConn on Friday at 2 P.M. in Gainesville, Florida. In last week’s 4-0 victory over South Alabama, Brooke Ramsier netted two goals in the second half. That performance earned Ramsier a spot on the topdrawersoccer.com’s National Team of the Week. Also in the game, her twin sister Casie, as well as Haley Gerken scored a goal each. This weekend will mark the third straight season that Auburn has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Soccer playoffs, which ties a record for the longest streak in school history that was set from 2002-04. Auburn has a solid track record in road games this season, the Tigers finished the regular season at 7-2 in road contests, outscoring their opponents 21-13. Auburn has a tough challenge ahead in UConn, as they face two of the nation’s best when it comes to scoring. The Huskies have the nation's leading scorer in Stephanie Ribeiro. The senior from Pawtucket, Rhode Island enters the match with Auburn netting 21 goals. Behind her, is Rachel Hill, who has 16. Auburn battles UConn at 2 P.M. central time in Gainesville, Florida. The winner will face the winner of the Florida-Wisconsin matchup on Sunday.
