Women's Basketball Begins Five Game Road Trip on Thursday

Auburn Women’s Basketball will hit the road for the first time of the season on Thursday when they face the Aggies of North Carolina A&T. Auburn picked up their first win of the season last Friday against Troy, 61-52 inside Auburn Arena. Senior Brandy Montgomery had a solid game. The preseason All-SEC second team selection scored 22 points and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line. Katie Frerking led the team in rebounds with 9, and also scored 12 in the win. Two of Auburn’s projected starters will be returning to their home state. Junior forwards Jazmine and Jessica Jones, natives of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will have a homecoming of sorts over the next four days, as they will play against North Carolina A&T in Greensboro on Thursday, and will face East Carolina in Greenville on Sunday afternoon. Both Jazmine and Jessica scored four points in the win over Troy. North Carolina A&T enters the game with a 1-1 record, with their most recent decision being a 74-51 win over Tennessee-Martin on Monday night. Three Aggies ended the night with double-digit scoring totals (Quenswayla Story- 15, Aliyah Kilpatrick- 15, Dana Brown- 14) Kilpatrick led the team in rebounds with six.
