The Southeastern Conference announced their regular season award winners on Sunday, and seven Tigers were honored, which breaks a program record set in 2004. This year’s selections are headlined by senior Casie Ramsier, who was named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In four years as a student-athlete at Auburn University, Ramsier has a 3.92-grade point average, earned two Bachelor’s degrees, and is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Accounting. This is the second time in as many years that Ramsier has earned this honor. Ramsier was also named to the All-SEC First Team for her work on the pitch. Joining Ramsier, are fellow senior Kiana Clarke, and Kristen Dodson. Ramsier and Dodson were fundamental in Auburn’s offensive success this season. The duo ranks near the top in every offensive category, with Dodson leading in points (29), goals (11), and game-winning goals (5), while Ramsier led in shooting (70 shots, 35 on goal). Clarke was a part of a solid defense that allowed only 19 goals in 190 attempts by the opposition. Goalkeeper Sarah Le Beau and Brooke Ramsier were named to the All-SEC second team. Le Beau registered 1636 minutes at the goalkeeper position this season. She has also recorded 50 saves and has 5 shutouts. Ramsier led the team in assists with 7 and has 15 total points. Finally, two Freshmen were honored by the league office. Bri Folds and Karli Gutsche contributed offensively and were rewarded for their efforts. In 16 starts, Folds earned 13 points for 3 goals and 7 assists. That point total is the second highest for a freshman in school history. She was also responsible for the game-winning goal against Georgia on September 25. Gutsche had a great season on defense, but she also took six shots with one being a game winner. Auburn’s postseason run begins on Wednesday in Orange Beach, as they await the winner of Tennessee/Ole Miss. Kickoff for Auburn’s game on Wednesday is set for 12:00 P.M.
